What does it mean to be a "World Class Learner"?

Updated: Jul 1, 2022

To be a world class learner, one needs to know about the world. Not just the comfortable world of family, friends and neighbors we know and understand. One must become aware of how other cultures and communities work. We must have age appropriate ways for students to engage in discovering what lies beyond the borders of their personal community.

The curriculum we design must include input from the diverse communities within our boundaries. Parents, teachers and other members of our district have to be involved with

crafting a vehicle for our students to safely understand how the world works.

I look forward to hearing ideas about how we can have this come to pass. How can we best use the richness of our combined cultures to truly cultivate world class learning?
